§ 5.88.010. Registration—Permit required.

    Every transient vendor, peddler or solicitor as defined in this chapter, who engages in the business of going from house to house or place to place, going in and upon private residences or residential property within the city, who proposes to engage in selling, soliciting, contracting to sell or take orders for goods, wares or merchandise, or soliciting contributions, subscriptions or memberships, and who does not have a fixed place of business in the city or permanent residence in the city shall, in addition to any and all other applications required by this code, register with the Calexico police department prior to undertaking any such vending, soliciting or peddling.

    B.

    Every such transient vendor, peddler or solicitor is required to have a permit issued under the provisions of Section 5.88.050 prior to and at the time of engaging in the business of going from house to house or place to place, going in and upon private residences or residential property within the city, selling, soliciting, contracting to sell, taking orders for goods, wares or merchandise, or soliciting contributions, subscriptions or memberships, and he shall carry said permit at all times and exhibit the same upon request.
